Nomination for Apple Award by Guides Association of New York City

The Algonquin Round Table New York: A Historical Guide

The Algonquin Round Table New York: A Historical Guide

I was really surprised and honored today to hear from the Guides Association of New York City (GANYC) that my book The Algonquin Round Table New York: A Historical Guide has been nominated for an Apple Award. I’ve been nominated in the Outstanding Achievement in Non-Fiction Book Writing category.

The 2nd annual awards ceremony will be held March 7 at Symphony Space, which is nice, because I can walk to it and won’t need to hire a limousine. I joined GANYC earlier this year and I’m a provisional member. I started leading walking tours in 1999 and always wanted to join the professional guides association, but never got around to it.

Thanks to GANYC for nominating me. And thanks to my editors at Lyons Press, James Jayo and Meredith Dyas.
